The graphs at right show that inner rings and lenses in barred disk galaxies are intrinsically elongated with an axis ratio of 0.81 +/- 0.06 and are aligned parallel to bars. The graphs at left show that outer rings in barred disk galaxies are also intrinsically elongated, with an axis ratio of 0.82 +/- 0.07, and have two preferred alignments, parallel and perpendicular to the bar.
