Although classified in RC3 as a late-type barred spiral, ESO 235-58 is actually an interacting system related to polar ring galaxies. The apparent bar is an edge-on disk, while the apparent pseudoring and arms represent an inclined disk (Buta and Crocker 1993b; Iodice et al. 2004).
