De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

IC 1613 is very good example of an Im type. The image is fully resolved into individual stars. Karachentsev (2005) lists IC 1613 as a member of the Andromeda subgroup of the Local Group. It has an absolute magnitude MB = -14.5 and is 730 kpc distant. Skillman et al. (2003) have studied the star formation history of IC 1613 and concluded that most of its star formation has occurred at intermediate ages, much the same as for dSph galaxies.
