De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

NGC 1574 has a small bar imbedded within an enormous envelope. In few galaxies is the disk to bar length ratio so large. There is no trace of a ring or lens . The S0^- classification is based on the extreme smoothness of the light distribution and the clear disk component.
