De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

Like NGC 2841 , the spiral structure of this galaxy is largely flocculent in nature. Although both de Vaucouleurs and Sandage classified the galaxy as (r) variety, we see mainly a sharp-edged lens in the inner regions and adopt the (l) classification. Interestingly, the B-H color index map shows that the apparent sharp edge may be due entirely to dust. NGC 2775 appears to have a complete dust ring . The B-H map also indicates that the west side is the near side of the disk (de Vaucouleurs 1958a). Particularly interesting is the large dust arc near the edge of the disk.
