De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The ring is very good but there is considerable tidal debris, indicating a major interaction. The galaxy is classified as a starburst system that has suffered a collision/merger with a significant companion (e.g., Wehner and Gallagher 2005). It also appears for the most part to be nonbarred. However, de Vaucouleurs recognized a weak bar. Although both de Vaucouleurs and Sandage classify the ring as (r) variety, it is clearly a pseudoring made of wrapped spiral arms and we adopt the (rs) variety instead.
