De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

This unusual object has highly elongated inner disky isophotes but rounder and peculiar outer isophotes. It is identified as a Type 3 shell elliptical galaxy in the Prieur (1988) classification scheme by Forbes and Thomson (1992), who also note that the galaxy has a decoupled core.
