De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The bar and inner ring are both well-defined in this galaxy. The ring is made of tightly wrapped spiral structure, but is sufficiently closed to merit the (r) classification. The bar ends short of the ring on the south side. Beyond the ring, an extensive multi-armed spiral pattern is found. The size of the bulge, and the general character of these arms, are the basis for the Sbc classification.
