Although classified by both de Vaucouleurs and Sandage as S0, in Atlas Units NGC 3665 appears to be a member of the dust-lane elliptical class (e.g., Kotanyi 1979). A highly inclined inner dust disk appears imbedded in a nearly round background galaxy.
