The interesting feature of this galaxy is that the brightest section is significantly miscentered. The general appearance of the galaxy favors type Sc, but the asymmetry may favor a later type. The RC3 type is SB(s)d: sp, interpreted in the same manner as de Vaucouleurs interpreted NGC 4631 .
