De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

NGC 4045 has features remarkably similar to NGC 1433, except that the bar is foreshortened and is fairly weak. The bar shows leading dust lanes, and the inner pseudoring is patchy and well-defined. Most interesting are the two short spiral arcs around the bar ends and at about twice the foreshortened bar length; these features are clear analogues of the``plumes" of NGC 1433. The outer pseudoring is an excellent example of an R1' type.
