De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

NGC 4254 is a bright member of the Virgo Cluster . It is a very good example of its type but is strongly asymmetric. Koopmann and Kenney (2004) found that the star formation rate in the galaxy is normal in spite of the cluster environment .
