De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

In spite of the high inclination , a clear s-shaped spiral pattern is visible, and a bar-like oval, viewed broadside-on, appears distinguishable. Considerable near-side extinction complicates the blue light morphology. This Virgo Cluster member has normal star-forming characteristics according to Koopmann and Kenney (2004).
