De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

Sandage notes that this galaxy, often classified as E, shows the multi-zone structure of an early S0. On the Atlas image, we can see such a distinction, but it is more subtle than in other cases like NGC 7144 and NGC 7192 . There is a round, diffuse core, an intermediate trace of a lens , and an extended envelope. The companion is NGC 4647.
