De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The outer pseudoring is well-defined in this V-band image, and is made of segments of as many as four different spiral arms. Most interesting is the very bright inner lens , which is the basis for the variety (l). It is unusual to see such a strong inner lens in a nonbarred galaxy. NGC 4909 is a possible example of a galaxy whose bar has dissolved into a nearly axisymmetric lens (Bournaud and Combes 2002).
