De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The core is very small, but the bar is very well-defined in this late-type spiral. The bar has the interesting characteristic that its dust lanes are centered rather than offset leading (Buta and Crocker 1993b). Such centered shocks have been studied theoretically by Athanassoula (1992). The inner pseudoring is well-defined and of the bracket (NGC 4548 ) type.
