De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:
NGC 5363 is an early-type galaxy showing peculiar dust patterns. In the inner regions, a small dust lane lies almost along the galaxy minor axis, while further out a large dust lane lies almost along the galaxy major axis. Bertola (1987) classified NGC 5363 as a warped dust lane elliptical. Sandage classifies the galaxy as an S03, while de Vaucouleurs classified it as I0 pec. Without the dust, the galaxy probably would be classified as E+ or S0-. Dust lane Es are further discussed in book section 2.10.
