De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The inner ring is a very well-defined feature. Although made of wrapped inner spiral arms, it is sufficiently closed to merit the (rs) classification. In projection, the ring is relatively circular, but if deprojected it would be intrinsically elongated parallel to the bar axis. The outer arms are characterized by much more chaotic structure, but the two arms forming the inner ring are very well-defined. These arms do not form an outer pseudoring . In the bar region, strong leading dust lanes are seen. In a B-I color index map, these lanes curve around a small blue star-forming nuclear ring. The Sbc classification is based on the chaotic, patchy, and open appearance of the outer spiral arms.
