De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

Only the inner part of this galaxy is covered by the Atlas image. The galaxy is not exactly edge-on, and appears to have a very small bulge. This and the patchy character of the disk are the basis for the Sc classification.

Extremely deep surface photometry of NGC 5907 was obtained by Morrison, Boroson, and Harding (1994). These authors detected very faint excess light far from the galaxy plane, and concluded this light is not due to a thick disk.
