De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

This galaxy is a somewhat more face-on version of NGC 5905 . The inner ring is well-defined, and, like NGC 5905 , is made of wrapped spiral arms. It is sufficiently closed to merit the (rs) classification. Because of the low inclination , the ring's alignment parallel to the bar is seen directly. Strong leading dust lanes are found in the bar region. Outside the ring, an extensive, multi-armed spiral pattern is present. Its extensiveness and patchiness are the main basis for the Sbc classification.
