De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

A bright inner pseudoring dominates the morphology of NGC 5945 . The feature is made of two arms breaking directly from the bar ends. The ring does not show the broken, four-part morphology of the inner ring of NGC 1433 , nor the the bracket morphology of the inner pseudoring of NGC 2307 . Outside the inner ring , a faint outer ring is seen. The slightly dimpled shape of this feature on one side is the basis for the R1 OLR subclass interpretation. In projection, the outer ring is elongated nearly perpendicular to the bar. In the bar region, two weak leading dust lanes are seen. In the central area, the isophotes are highly elongated perpendicular to the bar.
