De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

The tiny nucleus and very extended spiral arms of this galaxy favor the type Scd, but what is most interesting is the clear inner ring in the central regions. This ring is knotty and deprojects into a nearly circular shape. The ring is sufficiently closed to merit the (r) classification, and is remarkable because such rings are very rare at this late a stage in the VRHS sequence. The spiral structure breaking from near the ring is very weak, but half-way out in the disk the structure brightens and appears mainly as a one-armed pattern. Further out, four or more arms can be identified.
