De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

Like NGC 5792 , this object is clearly a barred spiral with a highly foreshortened bar. The inner ring is well-defined and appears mostly closed, thus favoring the (r) classification. The outer spirals are largely flocculent in nature, and the structure resembles that of NGC 7723 , viewed at much higher inclination . The color index map shows that the spiral arms are defined by recent star formation.

The Sb classification is very much favored by the Atlas image. The RC3 type of SB(r)c seems too late.
