De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

NGC 7332 has a very boxy center and may therefore be barred. The way brightness enhancements flank the center on both sides is the basis for our S0o classification. These enhancements are part of an inner disk. Falcon-Barroso et al. (2004) use detailed integral field spectroscopy to verify the existence of the bar and inner disk, and they also identified a counter-rotating stellar component close to the nucleus as well as ionized gas. They conclude that the bar and possibly also external interactions have affected the inner disk kinematics of NGC 7332 .

NGC 7332 forms a binary pair with the Sbc galaxy NGC 7339 .
