De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

NGC 244 (Haro 14) is a nearby example of a clumpy irregular galaxy , a type of irregular noted by Casini and Heidman (1976) to have strong UV emission, irregular clumpy structure, and to be fairly luminous with significant size and internal motions. However, the outer isophotes are so regular that the RC3 type is S0? pec. The galaxy is listed as a BCD by Hunter and Elmegreen (2004).
