De Vaucouleurs Atlas Description:

This unusual object has a conspicuous bar with features similar to those seen in NGC 1097 and 1300: a rather broad character with sharp leading dust lanes and other lanes perpendicular to the bar axis. However, the feature is distinct enough to merit the SB classification. The inner pseudoring is made of segments of at least 5 major spiral arms. All five of these arms are prominent in the outer disk. In the central region, a small spiral, defined mainly by the leading dust lanes , is the main feature.
